License and activation issues

What each sign-in, activation, device-limit, and license-expiry message in Relackout means, and how to fix it.

If Relackout won’t let you in — a sign-in error, a stuck activation screen, or an amber banner across the top of the app — this guide matches the exact message you’re seeing to what it means and how to fix it.

I can’t sign in (activation errors)

If you aren’t signed in on this device, Relackout opens straight to the Sign in screen.

  1. A fresh install, or a computer you’ve never signed in on, shows empty Email and Password fields, the Sign in button, and a language picker in the top right.

Empty sign-in screen with Email and Password fields, the Sign in button, and the language picker in the top right
  2. Type a made-up address like [email protected] and any wrong password, then click Sign in.

Sign-in form with a red error box above the button saying the email or password entered is incorrect

That red box is one of four messages Relackout can show here: wrong credentials give The email or password you entered is incorrect. Please try again., no connection to the server gives We couldn’t reach the license server. Check your connection and try again., an expired session gives Your session has expired. Please sign in again., and an unexpected server problem gives Something went wrong on the server. Please try again in a moment.. If none of those match, you’ll see another error message, or a plain Login failed..

”This account has no license” — wrong account

Signing in can succeed while the account itself still can’t get in: Relackout moves you to the License activation screen and shows a reason above the license list. License is not owned by this account or missing. means the account you signed in with doesn’t own an eligible license — usually because the license you’re looking for is actually registered to a different email address. Sign out and sign back in with the right account, or check in the customer portal which account the license belongs to.

License expired or revoked

The same screen shows License is expired or revoked. when a license’s time has run out or it was cancelled. This is the one reason that adds a Go to my account button, which opens the customer portal’s billing page directly. For how renewal and payment work, see Billing and subscription.

Device limit — one license, one device at a time

Each license can be active on exactly one device. In the license list on the activation screen, a license that’s already active somewhere else shows Bound to another device instead of Activate, and there’s nothing to click — it can’t be activated here. If this device was the active one but no longer is, you’ll see License is bound to another device. Unlink from portal first. instead: the license is bound elsewhere, and you need to unlink it from the portal before this device can use it. Device activation walks through moving a license to a new computer.

Offline grace period warnings

Relackout doesn’t need a live connection for day-to-day use — it keeps working for a while after your last successful check-in. As that window shrinks, an amber banner appears at the top of the screen: Offline grace will expire in less than 48 hours., then Offline grace will expire in less than 24 hours., then Offline grace will expire in less than 6 hours., and finally Offline grace expired. Connect internet and validate license. once it runs out. A second, separate set of warnings — Your package will expire in less than 48 hours., Your package will expire in less than 24 hours., Your package will expire in less than 6 hours., Your package has expired. Please renew your license. — tracks your license’s own expiry date instead of your connection; when both would apply, you only see the license-expiry one. Either banner can be closed with its × button, but it comes back the next time the countdown crosses a threshold, and if you’ve allowed notifications, the same text also arrives as a desktop notification titled Relackout License Warning. None of this appears on the sign-in or welcome screens — only once you’re inside the app. Going online and opening any screen re-checks your license automatically, so there’s rarely anything to do beyond reconnecting.

Other messages you might see

A few less common reasons can also stop you from getting in:

  • Version not covered — a lifetime license only covers Relackout up to a certain major version; opening a newer one than that names the covered version where it can and blocks entry until you install a covered build or upgrade — both the Download the covered version and Upgrade licence buttons appear right there.
  • This license was replaced by a lifetime license. Switching automatically… — an older license that’s been replaced by a lifetime one switches over by itself; it’s shown briefly but never blocks you.
  • Secure storage is unavailable. Please sign in again. — Relackout couldn’t read the license saved on this computer; signing in again fixes it.

What’s next

Most of what’s above gets fixed by signing in with the right account, waiting for a working connection, or moving a license between devices.
